Travel Safely in Australia brochure cover

National Visitor Safety Program

Destination NSW continues to support the initiatives of the National Visitor Safety Program to improve visitor safety awareness.

Initiatives include the Travel Safely in Australia brochure which is translated into seven languages - French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and Korean - and made available at Sydney International Airport. See downloads below for translated travel tips.

Airport Security

Travel safe. Travel secure.

The Australian Government has developed a new traveller-friendly website, TravelSECURE, to help visitors navigate the security checks at the airport quickly and easily and to ensure visitors are adequately prepared for their trip.

TravelSECURE is an easy-to-use resource that consolidates traveller and transport security information, videos and fact sheets in one easy-to-find place.

The site includes information about prohibited items, passenger and baggage screening, and liquids, aerosols and gels (LAGs) restrictions. Travellers will also find recommendations about travelling with children, laptops, medicines and sports equipment.

Key pages from TravelSECURE have been translated into Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Spanish to ensure greater accessibility.

Visit travelsecure.infrastructure.gov.au for more information.
