Destination NSW has worked closely with City of Sydney (CoS) and Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA) to develop a series of ‘Welcome to Sydney’ videos that have been made available to operators in the cruise shipping sector.
The videos are intended to increase awareness of the range of experiences available in Sydney, and to encourage visitor dispersal beyond the city.
They aim to help promote shore excursions in Sydney and day trips to the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and South Coast NSW.
Each of the three versions includes experiences tailored to a specific cruise target market, such as:
- iconic Sydney
- food and beverage
- art and culture
- outdoor lifestyle and native wildlife.
The three ‘Welcome to Sydney’ videos have been produced to cater for the following cruise target markets:
1. Luxury high-end (primarily international passengers)
2. Upper mid-market (domestic and international passengers)
3. Domestic and families

Destination NSW has produced a 90-second video for cruise operators and partners to promote shore excursions and day trips across Sydney and NSW. The ‘sizzle reel’ is free to use on websites, via social media and other promotional channels to maximise exposure to cruise passengers to the opportunities on offer in Sydney and NSW.
