Visitor Economy Taskforce

The NSW Government has established special industry taskforces to develop strategies to position key sectors of the NSW economy for growth. The aim is to develop plans that address issues such as innovation, productivity, exports and global competitiveness.

The Visitor Economy Taskforce has been established to develop a strategy for the tourism and events sector that will double tourism expenditure to NSW by 2020.

Members of the public and industry were encouraged to contribute to the development of the strategy by providing suggestions, comments and submissions online at the NSW Government’s Have Your Say website.

The online forums enabled individuals and groups to participate in the consultation process in an informal way.

Feedback provided through the online forums will be analysed and key issues trends and suggestions put forward to the Taskforce to assist their findings.
