Destination NSW Internship Placement Program
The Destination NSW Internship Placement Program provides opportunities for university students in New South Wales currently studying a tourism-related degree. Internship placements are offered to undergraduate and post-graduate students who are required to undertake a work experience placement as part of their course.
Successful students will have the opportunity to work with industry professionals to gain exposure and develop professional workplace skills and improve career opportunities in the tourism sector. The Internship Placement Program provides training and development in a safe and supportive business environment.
Placement is available in the business units of Destination NSW’s head office that align with and complement applicants’ studies and career interests. These include:
- PR and Communications
- Research and Insights
- Marketing – including Digital Strategy
- Destination Development
- Event Development
Workcover and Public Liability Insurance Coverage
Before commencing a placement, insurance cover must be provided through the university in which the student is enrolled.
Students wishing to apply to take part in the Internship must be:
- An Australian resident; and
- Studying in a university in New South Wales and in the second or third year of their relevant degree.

- Details of a project and the experience to be gained; and
