Mr Souris said that after seven years, it’s time for NSW to win the series!

“The NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, has secured two games for Sydney for the first time since 2010 – this is a great outcome for Blues’ fans and a significant boost to the NSW economy,” Mr Souris said.

“Over the next four years, State of Origin will drive over $65 million into the NSW economy, as a result of overseas, interstate and intrastate visitors catching Origin fever.

“Central Station and ANZ Stadium have been transformed into a sea of blue, and with gates opening at 5:45pm, it’s a great night out for the family,” Mr Souris added.

State of Origin tickets include public transport fares to and from the game and with some tickets still available through Ticketek, Mr Annesley encouraged fans to join the battle against the Queensland Maroons and make their way out to ANZ Stadium to cheer on the NSW Blues.

Mr Annesley said: “I’m confident the NSW Blues will perform well in the series opener particularly in front of a parochial home crowd.

“Tonight’s match is the first of two games being played in Sydney this year, and with Captain Paul Gallen leading the way, we have a great chance of securing a series win.

“We have seen fantastic support for the Blues in the lead up to this match and I urge fans to come to Game One to see their heroes in action in Sydney,” Mr Annesley added.

“Fans coming to Sydney will be able to see the biggest rugby league event in Australia and enjoy the best that Sydney and NSW has to offer.”

Mr Souris said: “NSW is the home of major events in Australia – and nothing beats the power of State of Origin.”
