Visitors can grab a bite to eat from near-by Darling Harbour cafes and restaurants and soak up the vibrant atmosphere with friends and family while relaxing on the grass in front of the big screen. This is a free event, and no registration is required.
The NSW Government is making sure there are free and fun events and activities for the whole family to enjoy which don’t cost a cent. Recent changes have seen event caps lifted and red tape around entertainment, dining and events slashed.
The long-term transformation of Darling Harbour continues with visitation reaching 26.4 million during the year. Recent additions include the sound shell at Tumbalong Park, a new public space in the Chinese Garden of Friendship and a playground for older children which continues to uplift Darling Harbour and offer locals and tourists another reason to visit the precinct.
Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said: “Tumbalong Park will be second only to Accor Stadium as the place to be to cheer on the Matildas in the Asian Cup final on this Saturday.
“This is another example of the Minns Labor Government supporting Sydney’s visitor economy with events that drive visitation, jobs and boost business.”
Minister for Sport Steve Kamper said: “The CommBank Matildas are on fire and it's great to see them progress in the Women's Asian Cup Australia 2026.
“Bringing the final live and free to Tumbalong Park is a brilliant way for fans to come together, cheer on our team and soak up an incredible atmosphere in the heart of Darling Harbour.
