Mr Maguire said the three day conference will provide event professionals and event stakeholders with a forum to hear from targeted and experienced presenters, discussing issues and topics that directly impact the regional event industry.

“I am pleased to announce that the NSW Government, through Destination NSW, is supporting the 2016 NSW Regional Events Conference – a wonderful event for our region.”

“Hosting the first NSW Regional Events Conference in Wagga Wagga will showcase our wonderful facilities and involve our entire community, with the region’s accommodation and fantastic restaurants and cafés expected to be buzzing,” Mr Maguire said.

Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said supporting events such as the NSW Regional Events Conference helps to boost local economies and provides visitors with added inspiration to explore the region.

“Regional events are a vital part of this government’s plan to drive overnight visitation to regional NSW, and this conference is a great opportunity for the entire NSW events industry.

“Tourism and major events are often the lifeblood of our small country and coastal towns, and we are delighted to be supporting the first conference of its kind in NSW which will help attract more visitors to Australia’s number one tourism and events State,” Mr Ayres said.

The 2016 NSW Regional Events Conference will take place from 2 – 4 May and will benefit a range of regional stakeholders including event managers, councils, tourism bodies and organisations.
