It is the first time ATEC has partnered with a state tourism organisation on the event in its entirety.Held over three days from 20-22 May 2014, it is the second time Sydney will host the event, with the inaugural program launched here in 2010. AYTE is recognised as the only international trade event in Australia that focuses on connecting Australian backpacker, youth, adventure and education suppliers with international distributors.

The event program includes scheduled workshop appointments between distributors and suppliers, networking events and post-event familiarisations. In addition to AYTE, the annual Australian Backpacker & Youth Industry Conference (ABYIC) will be held in conjunction with the event.

Destination NSW CEO, Sandra Chipchase, said, “Sydney is the ideal destination to host AYTE, as we are the gateway for youth travel in Australia.

“AYTE provides a platform for our local operators to connect with industry, and showcase their products first-hand with the incorporated familiarisation program following the event. Destination NSW has long been committed to the youth tourism sector as an important growth market, and we are delighted to act as host State in 2014.”

ATEC Managing Director, Felicia Mariani, said, “ATEC is pleased to be offering this important youth sector program in 2014 and that the value of this growing market has been recognised by Destination NSW, who is partnering in the delivery of AYTE.”

“As a growing market and increasing contributor to the visitor economy, this three day event provides B2B workshops and a conference program that is unique in its ability to connect international distributors from key youth source countries with youth product suppliers from across Australia.”
