Applications are open for delegate sponsorship support to attend Australian Indigenous Tourism Conference (AITC) 2026. 

AITC 2026 is a three-day program of trade and media education activities and workshops, sharing industry insights with the focus of examining current and future travel trends.

Hosted by the Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council (WAITOC), the conference will be held from 3-5 November 2026 in Perth/Boorlo.

Destination NSW will provide delegate sponsorship support, valued at up to $6500 per delegate, for up to 15 eligible Aboriginal tourism business participants to attend the 2026 Australian Indigenous Tourism Conference.

Inclusions

Destination NSW delegate sponsorship support package is for one delegate per participating business* and includes:

  • Return flight from your nearest NSW airport (via Sydney if required) to Perth (economy class)
  • 4 nights accommodation (with daily breakfast) from 2-6 November 2026
  • Full conference registration for sponsored delegates.

The delegate sponsorship support package excludes the following:

  • Meals and beverages not outlined in the program
  • Transport, transfers and parking expenses
  • Travel insurance
  • Other personal incidentals.

* Additional delegates from a business can register to attend AITC at their own expense.

Selection criteria

Delegates must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • Be over 18 years of age
  • Either represent an NSW Aboriginal-owned and -operated tourism business, or an organisation supporting Aboriginal tourism (including but not limited to Local Aboriginal Land Council) or;
  • Be an individual with an idea for an Aboriginal Tourism business which is demonstrated through their application
  • Committed to attending the full program at AITC in Perth
  • Agree to sign an Event Code of Conduct as required by the event organiser.

Preference will be given to Aboriginal-owned and operated businesses that most closely meet the selection criteria. If the number of applicants meeting the selection criteria exceeds the available places, Destination NSW reserves the right to determine final selection using a mix of experience type, location and business readiness to ensure a balanced representation.

Applications for sponsorship can be made on the ATIC event website. Successful applicants will be notified in July 2026 by the event organiser, WAITOC.
