The Destination NSW Focus on India & Southeast Asia event will take place from 3-4 December 2025.

Focus on India & Southeast Asia is a structured trade event and familiarisation program that will bring approximately 60 key travel buyers (wholesalers, retail agents and online travel agencies) from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and India to NSW.

The event will showcase Sydney and NSW products and destinations through a two-day appointment-based B2B workshop, a networking gala dinner and a familiarisation program in Sydney and regional NSW.

Tourism suppliers from NSW are invited to apply to attend the Focus on India & Southeast Asia event in Sydney to meet and connect with travel buyers from these source markets.

India and Southeast Asia market overview

The India and Southeast Asian markets—comprising Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and India—represent a strong and growing opportunity for NSW.

These markets are key contributors to international tourism for the state.

Combined, the source markets were responsible for 13 per cent of international visitors, 17 per cent of international visitor nights and 12 per cent of international visitor expenditure in NSW in the year ending March 2025.

Event objectives

Focus on India & Southeast Asia aims to grow overnight visitor expenditure for NSW by:

  • Increasing destination and product awareness among key Indian and Southeast Asian travel buyers
  • Growing business and contracting opportunities for NSW tourism suppliers with these buyers, who play a crucial role in product development in India and Southeast Asia
  • Strengthening and establishing travel industry relationships with India and Southeast Asian travel buyers
  • Showcasing NSW visitor experiences, cities, regions, and events to key travel buyers

New Market Product Pathway

The Focus on India & Southeast Asia New Market Product Pathway offers NSW sellers subsidised access to Focus on India & Southeast Asia.

This initiative supports businesses that are newly export-ready or new to the India and Southeast Asian markets (Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam), enabling first-time participation in a trade event targeted at these markets.

The aim is to support NSW businesses to attend Focus on India & Southeast Asia with a subsidy, ensuring a strong foundation in international distribution from which they can continue to build.
