The Destination NSW Board met this month in Griffith, one of several board meetings held in regional NSW each year to facilitate engagement with local visitor economy stakeholders.

Griffith is located in the Riverina region of NSW, known as the ‘food bowl’ of the state. The town also has a fascinating Italian heritage and is home to wineries, restaurants and events including Spring Fest and A Taste of Italy.

The two-day visit was an opportunity for the Board and the Destination NSW executive leadership team to learn more about the Riverina Murray region, which is a key contributor to the growth of the NSW visitor economy, delivering $5.8 million in domestic visitor expenditure every day.

While in Griffith, the Board and executive leadership team met with local visitor economy stakeholders and Destination Riverina Murray during an event held at Piccolo Family Farm.

They also visited local attractions including Whitton Malt House, Aquna Sustainable Murray Cod Farm, Griffith Tourism Hub, Zecca Griffith, Morella Grove Olives and Calabria Family Wines.
