“The Australian Event Awards recognises excellence in the events sector regardless of size, location, audience or industry association,” Mr Ayres said.
“The tourism and events industry is a key employer across the State and we must continue to acknowledge the commitment and outstanding achievements made by one of our most important industries.
“I strongly encourage events in NSW to enter for this pinnacle awards program, which culminates in an awards night which is a fantastic celebration for all of those involved.”
Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said events continue to bring a broad range of economic, promotional and community benefits to Sydney and Regional NSW.
“The Australian Event Awards offer a platform to highlight our world-class events which continue to be strong drawcard for attracting visitors from both domestic and international markets,” Ms Chipchase said.
“As Australia’s number one events State, events across Sydney and Regional NSW are encouraged to enter before the deadline.”
The Awards will take place on Tuesday, 17 November at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont, with entries open now.
