About

The Destination NSW Visitor Experiences team focuses on developing world-class visitor experiences aligned to NSW's strengths, under five key categories:

  • Journeys: road trips, regional accommodation and attractions; rail journeys, air touring, and multi-day experiences; accommodation and activities close to major airports; cruise port shore experiences; and visitor attraction signposting.
  • Aboriginal Experiences: Aboriginal owned and operated visitor experiences, cultural centres and Aboriginal-led experiences in National Parks, gardens, galleries and museums.
  • Lifestyle: Sydney experiences, attractions and hotels; the 24-hour economy; LGBTQI+ travel experiences; and accessible and inclusive travel
  • Nature, Sustainability & Wellness: nature-based accommodation and experiences, certified sustainable and ecotourism experiences, wellness retreats and experiences.
  • Culinary & Agritourism: Culinary and dining experiences; winery, brewery and distillery experiences; agritourism including farm accommodation, tours and pick-your-own experiences.

The team's work includes building industry capability by delivering the statewide NSW First Program, which includes capability-building workshops, webinars, resources and product development assistance, to help visitor economy businesses to develop, promote and sell great experiences.

The team also provides product updates and recommendations for Destination NSW activities such as media and PR, content shoots and website articles, consumer marketing, social channels, international marketing, and trade events, training and familiarisations.

The team works closely with industry associations and government agencies that align to the NSW strengths, to leverage and advocate for opportunities for NSW visitor economy businesses.
