Mr Souris said organisers expect thousands of motorsport enthusiasts to make their way to Sydney Motorsport Park this Saturday (15 February) for the first sydney.com V8 Supercars Test Day.

“This very first and free sydney.com V8 Supercars Test Day will give fans a unique and personal experience of the excitement of the V8 Supercars, offering fans the chance to get up close to all their favourite V8 cars, meet the legendary V8 Supercars drivers and go behind the scenes to see first-hand how teams are preparing for the upcoming V8 Supercars Championship Series.

“There will be the chance to see new cars including, the brand new Volvo S60 on track for the very first time, new liveries, and fresh faced drivers ready to tackle another year of action packed driving.

“The NSW Government, through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, is continuing to work hard to ensure key sporting and lifestyle events like the sydney.com V8 Supercars Test Day remain on the NSW Events Calendar. With the Sydney Motorsport Park 400, Bathurst 1000 and Sydney 500, NSW is the home of the very best V8 races in the country.”

This year, Volvo will join the grid next to traditional rivals Holden and Ford as well as Nissan and the Mercedes Benz E63 AMG, which are both gearing up for their second year in the Championship Series.

Fans attending Saturday’s sydney.com V8 Supercars Test Day will also have the chance to purchase a Sydney Super Pass which gives fans trackside tickets for each day of the Sydney Motorsport 400 event to be held in August, and the Sydney 500 in December for only $132.
