The series features the best food and wine in Australia and is a tribute to the quality of NSW produce with 11 of the 14 episodes filmed in regional NSW and Sydney.
The series, supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, showcases unique food and wine destinations including, the Snowy Mountains, Armidale and Tamworth, Orange, Port Macquarie, Albury, Blue Mountains, The Hunter Valley, The Shoalhaven and Sydney and its surrounds.
“This is a great opportunity to reach a large national and international audience. As well as airing on 7TWO, the series is already being broadcast in New Zealand and on Qantas in-flight entertainment. It is also set to air in Croatia and on the Lifestyle Channel in Australia later this year,” Mr Souris said.
“We have such a great diversity of produce across NSW, from Aboriginal bush tucker in Albury, to award winning lamb in the New England, international acclaimed wines in The Hunter Valley and the freshest seafood on the NSW coast. Food and wine experiences are vital in making vistors’ trips memorable”.
Lyndey Milan said she was thrilled to be able to showcase the characters, places and pastures that make up the backbone of NSW’s thriving culinary culture.
“I found the wealth and quality of food and wine produced is exceeded only by the dedication and innovation of the hardworking people who create it,” Ms Milan said.
“Along the way I met internationally renowned chefs including Rick Stein, Tetsuya Wakuda, Neil Perry, Pete Evans and Maggie Beer, generations-old family businesses firmly entrenched in our society, and some brand new bright sparks forging the new frontier; overall an incredibly eclectic line up of culinary treats and tales,” she said.
World-renowned chef Neil Perry joined Lyndey Milan in filming the Sydney and surrounds episode, saying he was proud to join his long-time friend to share the cuisine of their home town with the world.
“We visited my local butcher before cooking a BBQ on the shores of our beautiful Harbour”, Mr Perry said.
“It was an iconic Sydney experience, and I’m so thrilled to share everything that’s wonderful about NSW food and wine culture with Lyndey and audiences throughout Australia and New Zealand and further abroad,” he said.
