“I am delighted to announce that Nerissa has been appointed to this key role at Destination NSW,” Ms Chipchase said.
“Nerissa will be based in our new office in Beijing to further develop and grow the north and north west China market.
“Nerissa has an impressive background in tourism and partnership marketing as well as strong relationships with trade partners in Beijing and the Northern China region.”
Nerissa will work closely with Destination NSW’s airline, wholesaler, retail and online travel agent partners to promote the State and to increase visitation to Sydney and NSW.
“This is a great time for Destination NSW’s expansion in China, with nearly 567,000 Chinese visitors arriving in NSW in the year ended December 2015, who spent a record $2.3 billion,” Ms Chipchase said.
“These extraordinary results reflect the work that we are doing, as the State’s tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, to ensure China remains the top market for international visitors to NSW.”
Ms Li said she was delighted to accept her new role and take the opportunity to further develop partnerships to promote Sydney and Regional NSW destinations, experiences and events in the China market.
“I am looking forward to working with the NSW tourism and event partners to encourage even more Chinese visitors to enjoy the State,” Ms Li said.
