“Tickets to State of Origin One include the cost of public transport, so fans should take advantage of the special train services and event buses running to Sydney Olympic Park and avoid any potential traffic hassles,” Mr Annesley said.

“This year for the first time public transport customers with a ticket to the State of Origin will be able to travel on any bus service without paying a fare under a new arrangement between the NSW Government and bus companies.

“These improvements to major event integrated ticketing mean customers attending major events will now be able to travel on trains, ferries and both Government and privately-run buses without paying an additional fare.

“Over 80,000 fans are expected to pack into ANZ Stadium for the series opener, and fans are advised to arrive early and consider staying late at Sydney Olympic Park.

“There will be plenty of food and drink options available, many of which will extend trading hours to enable fans to miss the post-game rush.

“To help set the stage, ANZ Stadium and Sydney Olympic Park railway station will be coloured NSW Blue with a spectacular light show featuring projections of game legends on display,” Mr Annesley said

“Free entertainment on the ground will also help get the crowd in the mood to cheer on the Blues over their Maroon rivals.

“Fans who are planning to drive should pre-book their parking to ensure they don’t miss out.

“The build-up to Origin has been electrifying and I’m confident Laurie Daley and the team will start the 2013 series off with a victory,” Mr Annesley said.

Limited reserved $20 flat fee car parking can be booked via the web at sydneyolympicpark.com.au; book early to avoid disappointment.
