Minister for Regional Tourism and Member for Monaro John Barilaro said the episode will encourage families from across the State to plan their next school holiday.
“The episode will feature the South Coast, the Murray and our Snowy Mountains, all of which are great short breaks and school holiday getaways,” Mr Barilaro said.
“This Sydney Weekender episode will feature the Snowy Mountains and uncover some of the superb experiences available in the region, including mountain biking in Kosciusko National Park and an overnight stay at Lake Crackenback Resort.
“During the warmer months, Thredbo’s signature ski runs transform into a downhill mountain biking heaven and it’s great to see Sydney Weekender showcasing this fantastic, outdoor activity to potential visitors,” Mr Barilaro said.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events Troy Grant said promoting short breaks is an important part of the NSW Government’s strategy to help double overnight visitor expenditure by 2020.
“We must continue to promote the variety of destinations and key experiences on offer across NSW to help grow visitation, and Sydney Weekender is an ideal medium through which to do this,” Mr Grant said.
“The Snowy Mountains is perfect for a short break all year round and a great option for families to visit during the school holidays with an array of exciting activities and events for all tastes and interests.
“Families planning a holiday should look no further than NSW, and tune in to Sydney Weekender this Sunday to discover why NSW is home to some of Australia’s best short break experiences,” Mr Grant said.
The episode will air at 5.30 pm tonight on the Seven Network and Prime Network across NSW and the ACT.
