Near Sydney
Mowbray Park Farm, Picton
Visitors to Sydney can experience a real slice of Australia at Mowbray Park, just nine kilometres from Picton and one hour from Sydney Airport. Mowbray Park Farm is a working farm and farm stay, set on 85 hectares. Guests can stay in a variety of country lodges with rates that include all meals and selected farm activities. Horse riding is available along with tennis, swimming, canoeing, boomerang throwing, sheep shearing, cattle feeding, working sheepdog demonstrations, whip-cracking, hayrides, egg collecting and milking cows.
Tobruk Sydney, Hawkesbury Valley
Tobruk is an authentic farm stay experience 70 minutes’ drive from Sydney. Recently refurbished, the homestead is suitable for up to three families or 12 people, with a large dining and lounge room, three double bedrooms and bunkroom, bathroom, a kitchen, air conditioning and wrap-around balcony with BBQ. Guests can self-cater or enjoy meals in the Woolshed Restaurant and partake in the daily activity program which includes learning how to use a stockman’s whip.
NSW
Blue Mountains
Bilpin Springs Lodge, Bilpin
This beautiful bed and breakfast/farm stay is set on four hectares of gardens and bushland. The property provides a Blue Mountains bush experience for families and couples. Catering for a maximum of 20 people at any one time, the lodge’s activities include canoeing, fishing and feeding farm animals. There is a country kitchen for self-catering and a full breakfast is served daily. It’s an easy drive to Blue Mountains tourist attractions like Mount Tomah Botanic Gardens, Katoomba and the Three Sisters, Leura and Jenolan Caves. This farm stay is also pet-friendly.
Hunter Valley
Starline Alpacas Farm Stay Resort, Broke
This working alpaca farm has around 200 alpacas, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and ducks. Accommodation consists of 13 self-contained cottages and three suites, sleeping up to eight people in one to three-bedroom suites. The property has extensive gardens and facilities, including a tennis court, pool, spa and sauna. Fruit picking is also available in season.
Southern Highlands
Tarella Farm House, Werai
Tarella Farm House is a beautiful farm stay in the Southern Highlands near Mossvale. It features four bedrooms, one bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, dining and lounge facilities. The farmhouse is a stone’s throw from the Farm Club Cafe, Farm Shop and Nursery. With beautiful gardens and a barbecue courtyard it’s a peaceful place for summer festivities.
New England
Wayward Jerseys Farm Stay, Uralla
Located between the picturesque towns of Armidale and Uralla, Wayward Jerseys offers an excellent base for exploring the New England region. Riverina
Hanericka Farm Stay, The Rock near Albury
Located 35 minutes drive from Wagga Wagga, Hanericka farm stay is a sixth generation wheat, sheep and cattle property.
