Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres, said that broadcasts on the Seven Network will take place at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo on Saturday and at the award-winning Eldee Station near Silverton on Sunday.
“These broadcasts have been secured with the support of the NSW Government, through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, and will highlight the stunning places to visit in Central and Outback NSW,” Mr Ayres said.
Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said Inland NSW is a spectacular part of the State.
“This region has so much to offer, and I’m delighted these broadcasts will attract the attention of potential visitors right across Australia,” Ms Chipchase said.
Deputy Premier and Member for Dubbo Troy Grant, said the exposure would be fantastic for the Western Plains Zoo and surrounding attractions.
“The Taronga Western Plains Zoo is one of the State’s most popular tourist attractions, and is now a must-see for any visitor to NSW. It’s great to see the Zoo and Dubbo gaining further coverage this weekend, helping the local visitor economy in the weeks and months to come,” Mr Grant said.
Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries, said Eldee Station is one of the most prominent outback tourism providers, offering a range of incredible experiences.
“Eldee Station is situated just outside of Silverton, an hour’s drive north of Broken Hill. It is a hugely successful local business, winning the ‘Hosted Accommodation’ category at the 2015 NSW Tourism Awards. These weather crosses by Sunrise will see the Station promoted to a huge audience and showcase the beauty and diversity of the Broken Hill and Outback region,” Mr Humphries said.
The weather crosses will play every half-hour from 7:00am to 10:00am on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and will be broadcast across the Seven Network.
