Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris said Sydney 500, which is supported by the NSW Government, promises to deliver a nail-biting finish to the 2013 motor racing calendar.”The Championship battle between Jamie Whincup, Craig Lowndes, Mark Winterbottom and Will Davison, to be held on one of Australia’s toughest street circuits, will be a real thriller,” Mr Souris said.
“This race will see the final showdown between Holden and Ford and new manufacturers Nissan and Mercedes AMG as they go head to head for the 2013 Championship trophy.
“The initiative of V8 Supercar twilight racing on Saturday evening for the first time ever at Sydney Olympic Park will further enhance the excitement and appeal of the event.
“I urge all motorsport fans and their families to visit Sydney Olympic Park to witness all the action of the Sydney 500 V8 Supercar Grand Final Championships.”
The V8 Supercar event will have off-track entertainment including the Xtreme Arena with daily performances from Showtime Kawasaki FMX, Stuntz Inc and Flair Freestyle Trials teams.
Disney-Pixar Fun Zone will again be host to the life size replica of Mack the Transporter plus a new Pixar precinct featuring Cars, Toy Story, Monsters and Finding Nemo – there’s more family fun than ever before.
Single day entry for the Saturday and Sunday is only $67 (plus booking fee) which includes the Saturday evening twilight racing as well as public transport to and from the event. Kids 12 and under receive free trackside admission entry with a paying adult.
