Show host Mike Whitney experienced a sneak peek of what’s in store for the 10th anniversary of Vivid Sydney, the world’s largest festival of light music and ideas, which takes place around the Harbour City from 25 May – 16 June 2018.
Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall said with just more than a month to go until Australia’s largest event, now is the perfect time to encourage and inspire thousands of television viewers across the State to plan their trip to Vivid Sydney.
“Vivid Sydney continues to dazzle visitors from across the globe each year and 2018 is no exception as we celebrate our 10th anniversary with a must see program,” Mr Marshall said.
“Luna Park will join for the very first time and the ever-popular Customs House will return with a stunning animation of May Gibbs’ classic characters Snugglepot & Cuddlepie.”
In the same episode, show presenter Luke Carroll will preview the upcoming Caravan Camping Holiday Supershow, which takes place from 24 – 29 April 218 at Rosehill Gardens.
This episode is one of six Destination NSW specials airing on Sydney Weekender during 2018 and was secured by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
“Growing visitation for major events such as Vivid Sydney and encouraging travellers to explore more of NSW on a caravan and camping holiday is part of our strategy to double overnight visitor expenditure by 2020,” he said.
“The cooler months are a great time of year to visit Sydney and regional NSW and these stories will inspire viewers with great suggestions to maximise their NSW holiday experiences, whether it’s exploring one of the new Vivid Sydney precincts or getting out and about to explore our great State on a caravan or camping holiday.”
The episode will also feature segments on South West Rocks and Kingscliff in Northern NSW. Tune into Channel Seven at 5.30pm on 22 April 2018 and across NSW & the ACT on the PRIME Network to watch the episode.
