Destination NSW showcased Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) and its gateway tourism regions to key stakeholders from 2–5 September 2026.
Australia’s new full-service airport will operate curfew free to deliver international and domestic services, welcoming its first passengers on 25 October 2026.
Airlines preparing to service WSI include Jetstar, Qantas, Air New Zealand, Vietjet, Singapore Airlines and Fiji Airways.
With the airport on the runway to serve up to 10 million passengers annually, it’s an exciting time for local tourism, businesses and jobs.
Three famils were hosted by Destination NSW, which were aimed at increasing product knowledge in locations including the Southern Highlands, Western Sydney and Blue Mountains.
The famils were also designed to drive inclusion of regional products in marketing campaigns; facilitate conversations between partners and accommodation and experience operators; generate high-quality content for owned and partner channels; and strengthen strategic relationships with key airline and distribution partners.
Representatives from Jetstar, Qantas, Expedia, Webjet, Luxury Escapes, Trip.com, Get Your Guide, Big Red Group and Accor Hotels attended.
