Tips to promote your experience
Once you’ve created or adapted nature-based elements to your experience, showcase your offering with visitors, media, staff and distribution partners with the following tips.
- Imagery: tell your visitors before they arrive about your new nature-based experience by showcasing them on your website with inspiring imagery, video, clear descriptions and access details. For portrayal of safe behaviour through imagery in the outdoors refer to Outdoor NSW & ACT, Adventure Tourism Image Checklist.
- Bookable: ensure your bookable nature-based experience is easy to find and book online via a clear ‘book now’ button on your website. Find out more here.
- Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW): create or update your Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) online listing with your nature-based experiences to promote via the Destination NSW consumer websites, VisitNSW.com and Sydney.com. For a review of your listing, schedule a 30-minute ATDW Health Check.
- Travel distribution partners: update or list your new nature-based experience with travel distribution partners like Adrenaline, Green Getaways, Life Unhurried, Salty Swims and Well Traveller to name a few. Learn more about how to sell online via distribution partners here.
- Social media: showcase your nature-based experiences on your social media channels. Focus on visitors, community benefits or the outcomes. Find out more here.
- Staff: educate your staff about what your business is doing so they can be ambassadors.
- Inform Destination NSW: let Destination NSW know about your new nature-based experiences through the Experience Update form.
- Inform local networks: advise your local tourism organisation, visitor information centre and your Destination Network of your new nature-based experiences.
