The Destination NSW (DNSW) New Product Workshop event will take place on Tuesday 31 March 2026 from 8.00am – 7.30pm in Sydney.
The New Product Workshop is an invitation-only, full day appointment-based workshop for newly export ready NSW visitor economy businesses (sellers) to meet and present their products to a range of western and eastern market buyers.
Buyer profile
Trade distribution partners (buyers) attending the Destination NSW New Product Workshop represent a variety of eastern and western markets. They include Inbound Tour Operators (ITOs) and Online Travel Agents (OTAs) that sell stays and experiences in NSW to visitors from around the world.

Prior to the New Product Workshop, sellers received a buyer guide, with more information on the registered buyer companies. 20-25 buyers are expected to attend the event.
Event objectives
The objective of the workshop is to grow overnight visitor expenditure for NSW by:
- Establishing relationships between newly export ready NSW tourism product suppliers (sellers) and travel distributors (buyers)
- Increasing destination and product awareness
- Raising the profile of NSW tourism product suppliers
- Growing business opportunities for NSW
- Creating opportunities for NSW tourism product suppliers to contract with distributors in the online and inbound distribution system.

With a maximum of 25 places available for sellers at the event, preference will be given to those who most closely meet the selection criteria. In order to showcase the depth and diversity of products Destination NSW reserves the right to determine final participation. If the number of applications exceeds the maximum number of sellers for the event, applicants will be waitlisted and contacted in the event of a place becoming available.
In order to attend the New Product Workshop, your accommodation, visitor attraction, tour/activity provider or tourism transport business must be export ready by the date of the event.
Attending visitor economy businesses (sellers) must:
- Have attended a NSW First Inbound Strategy Workshop
- Be an established tourism business (operating for a minimum of 12 months) with an ABN
- Be new to selling product (e.g. accommodation, visitor attraction, tour/activity provider or tourism transport) through the Australian inbound travel trade
- Offer commissionable rates for ITOs/OTAs and be able to extend credit terms to these buyers
- Have a clear ‘terms of trade’ policy (terms and conditions) in place for distribution partners
- Have a complete professional trade sales kit, including factsheet(s), inbound nett rates and trade terms
- Have a complete presentation to use in appointments at the workshop
- Offer a set schedule of frequent operation
- Have facilities to process bookings with at least a 24-hour turnaround time
- Hold all relevant government licences, permits and registrations required to operate your tourism business, including a National Parks Eco Pass if you operate a commercial tour in a NSW national park or reserve
- Hold public liability insurance to a minimum of $20,000,000
- Have an up-to-date, live ATDW-Online listing on Sydney.com or VisitNSW.com
- Meet all deadlines for requested materials and payment, including the provision of public liability insurance certificate of currency and three high resolution, landscape images (.jpeg format). Failure to meet deadlines may result in your place being forfeited.

Seller training virtual workshop (Zoom):

In this session, learn more about the New Product Workshop and buyers, get tips to prepare, present and optimise your appointment time, and learn how to follow up and maintain a trade contact strategy.
Presentation rehearsal (video call):
9-13 March 2026
During the 30-minute rehearsal call, a DNSW Product Development representative will pose as a buyer, and you will deliver a full 13-minute appointment. Afterwards, you will receive individual feedback on your presentation, trade sales kit and discuss any other questions you may have. Prepare your presentation and trade kit in advance of the call.
The one-to-one Microsoft Teams call will be scheduled with you directly.
