As anticipation builds for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™, Darling Harbour is set to shine with two drone shows.
Ahead of Asia’s biggest women’s football tournament, the night sky above Cockle Bay will come alive on 22 February 2026 with a fleet of 500 synchronised drones.
The drones will create aerial graphics inspired by the participating nations, the athletes and the dynamic spirit of the tournament.
Displays will take place at 8:15pm and 9:15pm, offering two opportunities to experience this visual spectacle over the harbour. Learn more here.
The AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026™ will take place across Sydney, the Gold Coast and Perth from 1-21 March 2026.
Returning 20 years after Australia first hosted the tournament in 2006, the 21st edition of the Finals promises to be one of the biggest and most exciting yet.
Sydney will host 11 matches across Western Sydney Stadium and Stadium Australia.
Minister for Sport and Minister for Jobs and Tourism Steve Kamper: “Sydney is the nation’s home of football and a world-leading destination for international sporting events, which will again be on display at the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
"We’re thrilled to have the mighty Matildas locked in to play Korea Republic in a critical group match on International Women’s Day, which will be one of 11 tournament matches played in Sydney, including two Quarter Finals, a Semi Final and the Final.
"We can’t wait to welcome thousands of fans from around the nation and across Asia to experience a memorable football tournament in one of the world's greatest sporting cities.”
