The Regional Event Fund identifies and supports events in regional NSW that have the potential to act as a ‘cornerstone’ or flagship tourism event for their area by attracting overnight visitation and delivering long-term benefits to the region.
Since it was established in 1996, the Fund has supported 381 individual events across regional NSW.
The Regional Event Fund includes the following two funding streams:
Micro Event Fund
A new stream developed as part of NSW’s 2019-20 bushfire and drought recovery program.
The fund supports the delivery of smaller community-based events with limited expenditure budgets in regional NSW areas impacted by drought or the recent bushfire activity.
The fund supports events that demonstrate an ability to engage and harmonise their local community, build destination appeal, attract visitors from outside the region and stimulate the local economy.
To be eligible for funding from the 2020 Micro Event Fund, an event must meet the funding criteria outlined in the terms and conditions.
Applications for the Micro Event Fund have now closed.
Flagship Event Fund
Supports the marketing of emerging events in regional NSW to increase their profile and encourage visitation.
To be eligible for funding from the 2020 Flagship Event Fund, an event must meet the funding criteria outlined in the terms and conditions.
Applications for the Flagship Event Fund have now closed.
